Parking crew: The last hoorah

I have been on the Mariemont Parking Crew for three years now, and am finally finished for good. I had a good experience overall, but learned just how careless, stupid, and ignorant people can be when it comes to something as simple as parking a car.

Some people yell and complain when the stadium lot has not spaces left. I have to tell them that it is not our fault they got here late and have to park far away; that is their fault. I also don’t get how people can’t fol

low a simple sign with an arrow. When we put up our “event parking” sign, it points to where we want them to go. You’d be amazed at how many people ask me where to park.

Even though it was annoying sometimes, I made a lot of money and met some good people. It was all worth it in the end.

  1. I think the parking crew prepares you for the potential infinite stupidity of humanity once they interact with machines (cars). On their own, they’re pretty cool. Behind the wheel: sheesh!
